Worship
One
of the hallmarks of our church is the worship services we have
on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. and at special times throughout
the year.
|
|
The
sermons, based on Scripture texts, are down-to-earth and full of
stories. As Congregationalists, we pride ourselves on thinking carefully
about our calling as Christians in the face of present day challenges.
The sermons help us to understand the Scriptures and apply their
teaching to our lives.

Our
worship is greatly enhanced by singing and choral music. We invite
the congregation to sing each Sundayenjoying beautiful traditional
hymns set to classical tunes as well as lively gospel songs or more
contemporary hymns. Our three church choirs enhance the congregational
singing, and offer special anthems or solos that fit with the theme
of that day. The adult choir welcomes all who love to sing to join
them in rehearsals on Thursday evenings. |
|
The folk group practices on Sunday mornings following worship,
and the childrens choir practices following the Church School.
We are blessed by wonderful leadership in this area including
our choral directors, organist, and soloists. All of our singing
is accompanied either by the piano or organ. The organ is a Midmer
Organ with over 1,000 pipesa treasure for this church and
community.
|
| The
church liturgical seasons are Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter,
Pentecost, and Thanksgiving. We observe the sacrament of Holy Communion
on the first Sunday of each month, and the sacrament of Baptism during
worship as needed. Worship brings us together as people to feel and
respond to Gods love. |
